Understanding The Format Curriculum Of CSA GP Exam
Clinical skill assessment - CSA is one of the key components to complete GP training in the UK. The test is aimed at tests the different aspects of general practice through the form of various clinical stations. The test includes different segments such as communication skills, an evidence-based approach, and a patient-centered approach.
The Testing Curriculum Includes:
1. Primary care management that will have recognition and management, studying about important medical conditions in primary care.
2. Demonstration of proficiency in the management of co-morbidity and risk.
3. Demonstrating proficiency in performing physical tests using diagnostic and therapeutic instruments.
4. Practicing ethically the diversity and equality along with the professional code of conduct.
5. Gathering and utilizing that data for the clinical judgment, interpretation, and demonstrating the approach in decision making.
6. Communication with the patients, consultation techniques, and approach to managing the problems.
How Is CSA GP Exam Marked?
The test is marked in 2 ways – Subjectively and numerically
Numerically there are a maximum number of 9 marks per case. Hence, you need to score a minimum of 117 scores. The pass mark will vary, ideally, it is lows and highs of 70 out of 117.
The 9 marks for each case are split into 3 domains with a maximum of 3 marks for every domain every case. These domains are – Interpersonal skills, Clinical management, Data gathering.
It is suggested that if you are appearing for the CSA GP Exam you should start preparing from 4-5 months ahead. Only decide to sit once you are ready and you think you can score well in the exams.
